BUS MINISTRY

We currently serve 2 communities in a 5 mile radius of our church. Seagoville & Combine.  Our buses only run for our Wednesday night services. Pick up begins as early as 6pm, and drop off can go as late as 9pm.  

OUR DRIVERS

THE  "DRIVING"  FORCE BEHIND VICTORY

A Bus Ministry driver at a church provides safe and reliable transportation, ensuring that individuals and families can attend services and church events, regardless of transportation barriers. They follow designated routes, picking up and dropping off passengers while maintaining safety and a welcoming atmosphere. Additionally, they help build connections with riders and assist in the upkeep and cleanliness of the church bus.

Please observe the following guidelines:

  • Children must be older than 5 years of age to ride the bus without an adult.

  • If you would like to request transportation, please call the VBC offices at (972) 287-1419.

  • All riders must fill out and sign a VBC Rider Release Form. Follow link above to obtain a copy.

         (Parent signature required under 18 yrs of age)

  • Only transportation within the city limits of Seagoville is available at this time.

WANNA JOIN OUR TEAM?

Here’s a detailed list of requirements for a  Victory Baptist Church driver:

 

General Qualifications:

1. Age Requirement:

   - Must be at least 25 years of age.

 

2. Driver’s License:

   - Possess a valid and current state driver’s license (Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred, if required by local regulations).

   

3. Clean Driving Record:

   - No major driving violations within the past 5 years (e.g., DUI, reckless driving, at-fault accidents).

   - Must provide a recent motor vehicle record (MVR) for review.

 

4. Experience:

   - Previous experience driving a 15-passenger van or similar large vehicle.

   - Familiarity with local traffic laws and road safety practices.

   

5. Physical Capability:

   - Must be physically capable of safely operating the vehicle and assisting passengers as needed.

   - Ability to load and unload luggage or equipment when necessary.

   

6. Background Check:

   - Must pass a comprehensive background check, including criminal history and driving record.

   - Must pass a drug screening test.

 

Skills and Knowledge:

1. Defensive Driving:

   - Ability to drive cautiously and defensively, ensuring the safety of passengers at all times.

 

2. Vehicle Maintenance Awareness:

   - Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and ability to perform pre-trip inspections (e.g., tire pressure, fluid levels, brakes, lights).

   

3. Communication Skills:

   - Clear and respectful communication with passengers, staff, and church leadership.

   - Ability to effectively report any vehicle issues or passenger concerns.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Safety First:

   - Ensure that all passengers are wearing seat belts and the vehicle is not overloaded.

   - Follow all traffic laws and church safety policies.

 

2. Timeliness:

   - Arrive on time for scheduled trips and events, adhering to agreed pick-up and drop-off times.

 

3. Route Planning:

   - Plan and follow the most efficient and safe routes to destinations.

   - Be familiar with alternative routes in case of road closures or detours.

 

4. Passenger Assistance:

   - Provide assistance to passengers, including children, elderly, or individuals with disabilities, ensuring safe boarding and exiting.

 

5. Vehicle Care:

   - Maintain cleanliness and ensure the van is well-kept.

   - Report any maintenance issues or vehicle malfunctions promptly.

 

6. Church Representation:

   - Serve as a positive representative of Victory Baptist Church while driving, interacting with passengers, and following church values and conduct standards.

 

7. Emergency Preparedness:

   - Be prepared to handle emergency situations (e.g., flat tire, medical emergency) and know the locations of first aid kits and emergency equipment.

 

Additional Requirements:

1. Availability:

   - Flexible schedule, available to drive for Sunday services, church events, youth trips, and other church activities as needed.

 

2. First Aid/CPR Certification:

   - Preferred but not required. Knowledge of basic first aid and CPR would be an advantage.

 

3. Commitment to Church Mission:

   - Must be an active member of Victory Baptist Church or a committed Christian, supporting the church’s values and mission.

 

These requirements ensure that the driver prioritizes safety, efficiency, and the representation of the church’s values.
