Chris Knowles / Senior Pastor

Our Pastor, Chris Knowles was born to a blue collar family in the suburbs of Ft. Worth, Texas in October of 1968. It was here that Chris would spend the first 5 years of his life until God would move his family to Granbury, Texas in the fall of 1973. Shortly after their move, he and his family would begin attending church faithfully through the bus ministry of Oak Trail Baptist Church in Granbury. This ministry would be the platform which would begin his journey to Christ. It was on January 30th of 1977 that Chris would receive Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. With the sacrifice and support of a good Christian family, Chris would attend the Oak Trail Christian Academy, where he would receive his high school diploma, graduating with the senior class of 1987. Soon after graduation, he would go on to attend Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas in the hopes of pursuing a life-long dream of becoming a college football coach. God would soon intervene in the summer of 1993 while he volunteered as a counselor at Minnetonka Christian Camp in Clayton, Oklahoma. It was there that God changed the direction of Chris' life and gave him the honor and privilege of calling him into full-time ministry. Soon after God's call to the ministry, Chris would meet the love of his life, Valarie Bryant. They would marry in May of 1994. Through the encouragement of Valarie, and his pastor, Dr. Gene Wolfenbarger Sr. of the Joshua Baptist Church in Joshua, Texas, Chris would go on to be licensed and ordained while also receiving his Bachelor of Bible Degree from Louisiana Baptist Seminary. Chris is presently serving the Lord at the Victory Baptist Church of Seagoville, Texas where he has been the senior pastor since August of 2002 and Valarie is serving as the church secretary. He also serves on the board of directors of the Minnetonka Christian Camp, the very place where God called him to preach. Chris is also the proud father of 3 beautiful children, Brooke, Briley and Brett Maverick. He and his wife, Valarie, enjoy spending time with each other, their children, and family, as well as, their church family. Chris' hobbies are hunting, snow-skiing, and playing an occasional round of golf.
