Victory Baptist Church has a "new theme"
for 
2010, "Break Free '10." What
this means is VBC has a new vision for our church. God's word tells us in Galatians 5:1, "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage." He has allowed us to open not only our hearts and prayers for the homeless, but also our food, clothing and bare necessities.
One of the ministries we are excited to initiate is the "Takin' It To The Streets". This ministry allows us to reach out to those less fortunate than ourselves. We will be ministering by taking food, clothing and toiletries to the homeless in downtown Dallas each month. God has blessed each one of us with blessings which we feel are meant to be shared with others.
Deuteronomy 10:18, says... "He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment." We pray as the year continues, God will bless this ministry and we can reach out further with this ministry.
WITH EVERYONE'S HELP WE CAN DO IT!
This ministry doesn't only benefit the homeless, but by obeying God's Commandments to take care of the homeless and the widows, we shall receive our rewards in Heaven. God tells us in 1 Corinthians 3:8, "Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour."
GIVING IS ALWAYS MORE REWARDING THAN RECEIVING!
We wish to extend to each one of you the opportunity to "Break Free '10". We are accepting donations of clean, used (in good condition) clothing items, coats, toiletries, blankets or shoes which we can take to be redistributed to the homeless. These people are the same as we, just down on their luck and need someone to care and extend a "helping hand." As we do our "Spring Cleaning" let us help by taking any articles you no longer need or want to those who can desperately use them. Please look deep within your hearts and reach out to those in need.
