G.R.O.W. Ministry
What is GROW? GROW stands for God Rewards Our Work. It is an Outreach and Inreach Program. Members are asked to commit to serving one night a month. Just one night a month - - That's about 15 hours a year. For many purposes, we do have a GROW calendar for member participation. Members come on the same Tuesday night each month. They even get to choose which Tuesday night would work best for them.
GROW participants will be visiting people who have visited, people who are hurting or who have a need, and of course visitations. But that's not all...we know not everyone wants to go out on visitation, so we will also have people writing letters and making phone calls. They will all receive training and a team that will always be available to help. Refreshments are served 30 minutes prior to start time at 7pm. There really is a place for everyone. We need all levels of experience and we need young adults (teenagers), as well as, seniors.
God Rewards Our Work!
Jesus commanded all of us to be a part of outreach in the Great Commission; Matthew 28:19-20, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Jesus' command is for all of His disciples, not just pastors, deacons, teachers, or outreach leaders, to go and make disciples.
God does reward our work and gives the increase. As Paul wrote under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, "I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow. The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor." This one purpose is to make disciples. This was Jesus' last command while he was on earth, "Go and make disciples of all nations."
